As a motivational speaker, I travel a LOT and I still have a vivid memory of an intriguing experience I had several years ago at the DCA airport.  I picked a rental car from the National Car Rental lot and pulled up to the checkout kiosk.  And when the young man turned around to take my information, something REALLY interesting happened.  Now, before I tell you want happened, I need you to know that I was in what I call, a “neutral” emotional state.  I wasn’t particularly happy, certainly not sad – just kind of neutral.

I just think about going to the dentist and my left eye starts twitching. And what makes this really fascinating is that I am also the (self-proclaimed) World’s Most Experienced Dental Patient. Name a procedure and I’ve probably had it done - more than once. So you’d think I’d be over it by now. Yeah, right. I’m not.

The Million Dollar Secret to Business Success

I am pitiful when it comes to hanging on to prescription glasses. Absolutely pitiful. In the last month I bought FOUR pair of prescription glasses. One for distance, one for reading and two sunglasses. And in the same month, I lost BOTH pair of the sunglasses - one on an airplane (motivational speakers fly a LOT!) and the other one, I think, grew legs and ran away from home. Regardless, yesterday it was time to go BACK to Lenscrafters and get another pair of prescription sunglasses. I was not happy. I did not want to spend more money. I was grinding my teeth all the way there.
